Gem Silica is prized for it's fine blue color and hardness. Gem silica is chalcedony
(microcrystaline quartz) that is colored with copper. It is becoming very difficult
to find good gem silica. This material is from the collection of a fellow who
worked at the Ray Mine in the early 1960's.
