Silver Leaf Serpentine Rough
Silver Leaf Serpentine has silver chatoyant bands running through it. To get this striking and beautiful effect in your finished stones, slice it parallel to the grain of the silver bands. The silver bands are composed of long fiber asbestos, which is not dangerous if cut and polished with water as a coolant. Do not grind this material dry and you'll be fine. Takes a good polish with tin oxide or diamond. Approximate Mohs hardness of the serpenting is 3.5 to 4.
