Lavender Agate Rough
This #2 grade Lavender Agate has more gray undertones and is lighter in color than than the best quality stones. It also has more patterning in it. These nodules will cut nice stones. As with other agates, Lavender Agate is very hard. It cuts like other agates and takes a fine polish with cerium or tin oxide, or diamond. This is usually found on the surface and is rarely a problem in cutting. Some uneven hardness can be encountered in this material, but tiffany stone generally cuts easily and takes a fine polish with diamond, tin or cerium oxide. Mohs hardness is 7.
