Real treasure of the Sierra Madres!  This material is from an old Spanish mine in the Sierra Madre Mountains that was rediscovered five years ago. 

 

Barranca del Cobre contains spots of various copper secondaries and has a nice white quartz matrix.  Polishes well with cerium oxide, tin oxide and diamond.  Some softer spots of turquoise must be carefully polished to avoid undercutting.
